The Communities section is co-curated with Young Keihm and will present the international communities of design in the context of the biennale. Other curators include Minsuk Cho (Mass Studies) and Brendan McGetrick.

An article tracing a week-long road trip around the mountains and fjords of Norway visiting a number of small architectural interventions, belvederes and bridges, published in Icon magazine in November 2008. The structures, designed by young Norwegian architects, are part of a government strategy to improve the tourist routes that wind through the country's most beautiful, untouched mountains and valleys.

Shenzhen Hong Kong Bi-City Biennale

 

 

European curator of the 2009 Shenzhen Hong Kong Bi-City Biennale of architecture and urbanism. The biennale's theme was 'City Mobilization' and 60 international artists and architects were asked to come to China and create site-specific installations, research and artworks that contributed to or activitated the city and responded to the complex relation-ship between Shenzhen and Hong Kong.

About a Minute was the inaugural exhibition of The Gopher Hole and brought together 15 artists, designers, writers, poets and scientists to respond and interpret the contemporary minute.  The plurality of responses and interpretations of time from different disciplines was part of the curatorial philosophy.  Exhibitors included Rachel Armstrong, Shumon Basar, Ralf Pflugfelder, Luke Wright and Dominic Wilcox.
